high moon

story

Located on the north side of Lone Mountain in the Moonlight Basin area of Big Sky Ski Resort, Montana, this vacation home offers breathtaking views of the Spanish Peaks. An entry “bridge” connects the main house to the ski-in, ski-out tower entrance, which sits atop the garage’s sod roof. The spacious great room in the main house is defined by open-web timber and steel trusses supporting exposed timber rafters, adding both character and structure to the space. A curated mix of native materials—including heavy timber framing and stone walls—is complemented by cement composite panels and board-formed concrete, creating a dynamic yet cohesive design.
